Description

Can you make a snowman spin before it hits the floor? In this winter STEM activity, students build a paper snowman spinner and find out how changing the folds affects the way it falls. They pick one of two snowmen, color and cut it out, fold the rounded tabs, and attach a paperclip. Then it’s time for the first drop!

Which fold works best? Use the class prediction graph to see what students think before they test. Then let them try different tab positions, draw or write what happens, and give their best design another spin.
